Inside the Electronic Systems Outlook Numbers

“Construction numbers look especially solid in corporate and government sectors as compared to 2018,” said NSCA executive director Chuck Wilson in the association announcement. “As always, the challenge for integrators will be finding qualified staff members so they can take on new work in growing markets.  [related]

“NSCA continues to support the Ignite program to attract new talent to the industry and help integrators fill the pipeline with qualified – and interested – employees,” he said, referring to the NSCA workforce development program.

NSCA initially created the Electronic Systems Outlook as a response to integrators asking about market conditions and trends so they could adjust go-to-market strategies.

Association leaders have followed and reported on industry conditions for more than 22 years, “knowing that new construction is the best indicator of the future business climate for integrators,” according to the NSCA announcement.

Understanding construction put-in-place totals “allows NSCA to predict patterns of slowdowns, recoveries, and market/geographic changes,” the announcement says.

Earlier this year, AVIXA released its 2019 AV Industry Outlook and Trends Analysis, which shows the global AV industry will grow from $247 billion this year to $325 billion in 2024. AVIXA’s report shows Asia Pacific has taken over as the largest global market for AV.
