Published: 2023-11-14

Key Digital has added to its selection of signal distribution devices with the introduction of its KD-FIX418A-2 HDMI Fixer.

The latest Key Digital product is a small-footprint solution that provides connectivity repair, as well as audio de-embedding to solve problems related to issues such as Hot Plug Detection, EDID handshaking, HDCP authentication and signal degradation. The N.Y.-based manufacturer explains the KD-FIX418A-2 HDMI Fixer features a newly updated chipset and a new circuit design.

According to the company, the unit offers switchable 4K down-conversion to 1080p to support legacy displays and projectors, and its TOSLINK optical port enables integrators to employ the KD-FIX418A-2 HDMI Fixer as an audio de-embedder.

Key Digital emphasizes the HDMI Fixer supports video resolutions that range from standard definition (SD), all the way up to 4096×2160 with fully licensed HDCP 2.2 compatibility, deep color support, and HDR10 and Dolby Vision extended luminance level capabilities.

Some of the other features the KD-FIX418A-2 HDMI Fixer offers include the inclusion of the company’s Full Buffer System that manages TMDS re-clocking/signal re-generation, HDCP authentication to source and display, Hot Plug management and EDID control handshake.

In addition, the HDMI Fixer Forced HPD tool fixes the Hot Plug Detection voltage ON to inform the source device that there is a live display to receive its signal.
