Fisheye Network Surveillance Camera Aims to Eliminate Blind Spots

Published: 2016-07-07

What AVUE is trying to do with its AV566IP-127F is a 6MP fisheye network surveillance camera is pretty simple – capture every detail, in every corner of an area and eliminate blind spots.

The company touts its sturdy, compact design and versatile mounting modes and targets it for applications that requiring monitoring of wide, open spaces such as airports, shopping malls, and parking lots.

This fisheye features a progressive scan CMOS sensor to provide high-resolution images of up to 3072×2408, and built-in microphone and speaker to allow more in-depth coverage. IR functionality also provides up to 15 meters IR visibility distance under low- or even zero-light conditions.

When accessing the camera’s different views, users can choose between software or hardware decoding. Software decoding enables a greater variety of views, while hardware, direct from the camera, will afford fewer but more accurate real-time views, according to AVUE.

The AV566IP-127F’s lens offers the option of either 360-degree panoramic or multiple de-warped views, including a horizontal panoramic view and PTZ quad view modes.

The 6MP fisheye is available now.
