Vivitek Demos Ultra Short Throw and Large Venue Projectors at ISE

Published: 2016-02-25

Vivitek‘s booth at ISE 2016 was a nice reminder of what its parent company, Delta, is capable of. Delta has been around since the early 1970’s and continues to create innovative products in display and power management. Vivitek is one of the company’s growing lines.

At the show Vivitek was demonstrating projectors focused on the education market. Ranging from 3000 lumens up to 5000 lumens, these projectors have all of the connection points you would expect from a display in the education space; HDMI, RS-232, USB, as well as VGA (DB15) on their models. Some had microphone and audio inputs.

The multimedia line had networking capabilities but “portable” did not. As some in the education market still tend to install these types of projectors Vivitek may want to add that functionality at a later date.

In line with what instructors have come to look for in projectors, Vivitek also has a line of ultra short throw projectors. These allow the teaching staff to instruct without the glare of a projector image in their eyes. Vivitek’s version was seemingly bright enough on the show floor. The specs show a range of 3000 to 3500 lumens. When a short throw is put into use a projector with 3000 lumens will typically be sufficient. This is, of course, dependent on the ambient light in the space.

Vivitek was showing one large venue projector for conference rooms, lecture halls and residential installations. The unit has a series of exchangeable lenses that makes the projector fit into most situations the integrator may find themselves. These projectors range from 5000 to 8000 lumens.
