The Sioux Falls, S.D.-based connectivity equipment manufacturer AVPro Edge has introduced a new network switch, the AC-MXNET-10G-SW24C, designed for AV-over-IP (AVoIP) applications.
According to the company, the new network switch is a 24-port, 10 Gig hybrid PoE++/PoE+ product that can be used with a variety of AV-over-IP devices and technologies, including AVPro Edge‘s MXnet, as well as AES67, Dante and SDVoE-certified products.

The new AC-MXNET-10G-SW24C Network Switch is shipped preconfigured with Quality of Service (QoS) settings optimized for AES67, Dante and SDVoE Multicasting.
AVPro Edge notes these preconfigured settings prioritize multicast AV packets over other types of network traffic to help minimize latency and packet loss to better ensure uninterrupted multicast performance.
AVPro Edge asserts that it is the first manufacturer to implement QoS configurations specifically for Dante and SDVoE network traffic to better support AV-over-IP performance regardless of whether the AV-over-IP system is installed in a commercial or residential environment.
The AC-MXNET-10G-SW24C Network Switch is backed by a 10-year, advanced replacement warranty to support integrators, says the company.
