CI Summit Education Sessions Announced for Total Tech Summit

Published: 2023-07-18

Total Tech Summit has announced the content track for CI Summit, featuring presentations from key commercial AV thought leaders. Total Tech Summit is, of course, a renowned networking event catering to the integration communities. The event enfolds three different tracks — CI Summit, CE Summit and SSI Summit — that target the commercial, residential and security markets, respectively. This year, Total Tech Summit emanates from Las Vegas and is scheduled for November 13 to 15. All events, including the content tracks and vendor meetings, will take place at the MGM Grand. Moreover, numerous networking events — for example, the 3rd Annual Cornhole Cup and the 2nd Annual Summit Slam — will amplify the Total Tech Summit experience. Emerald, corporate parent of Commercial Integrator, organizes and runs the event.

CI Summit Educational Panels, Presentations

Industry members widely perceive the educational panels and presentations as a Total Tech Summit highlight. And, to be sure, CI Summit will not disappoint! Although show organizers are still recruiting additional panelists to join the existing lineup, the trio of CI Summit thought-leadership sessions is now official.

On Tuesday, November 14, CI Summit is proud to present “The Great Coming Together.” This session will focus on how the commercial AV and residential AV worlds continue to move closer together. Industry observers are witnessing ever more manufacturers and technologies straddling the line. This fact raises some important questions: Should commercial integrators lean into this trend by broadening their core competencies? Instead, should they seek a go-to residential integrator partner and cross-refer to each other’s businesses? What risks emerge from these once-disparate worlds coming together? To tackle those queries and provide expert insight, CI Summit has recruited two of the sharpest minds in AV. Total Tech Summit is honored to announce these panelists: Alex Fortin, president, NDS Integration, and Ivan Collins, CEO, Innoface Systems, Inc.

Total Tech Summit Tackles ‘Owning the Room’

Later that same day, CI Summit will dive into the ongoing debate about “owning the room.” Many vendors aspire to be a single-source solution for most meeting-room needs, but the zeitgeist of the moment seems to be more centered on user flexibility and interoperability. Is this apparent contradiction a case of the unstoppable force meeting the immovable object? CI Summit is excited to announce a session, “Is the Future Interoperable or End-to-End?”, focusing on these crosscurrents. Is it true that end users have an emerging bias for “open-garden” solutions? Do today’s manufacturers really aspire to “own the room” with end-to-end solutions? Two widely respected industry members have already signed on to address these pressing issues. We’re honored to welcome Alexis La Broi, MBA, CTS, director, Audio Visual Services, MidPoint Technology Group, as well as David Danto, director of emerging technology, Interactive Multimedia & Collaborative Communications Alliance.

What’s more, Total Tech Summit organizers are in negotiations to add another universally known industry member to this panel. CI Summit hopes to announce his participation in the days ahead!

Company-Culture Considerations

Then, on Wednesday, November 15, CI Summit will broach perhaps the hottest topic in business circles today: company culture. Total Tech Summit is proud to announce a session entitled “Why Integration Businesses Should Prioritize Company Culture.” This session will make the case that today’s integration businesses set themselves apart not only with their technical proficiency but also with the culture that they instill in their company. This raises a key question: What are the elements of a culture that can both inspire employees and attract clients? CI Summit attendees will learn the answer!

This panel will feature four of the most esteemed names in commercial AV today: Bill Fons, president, PTG; Alexis La Broi, MBA, CTS, director, Audio Visual Services, MidPoint Technology Group; Jason Ault, cofounder and CEO, Coffman Media; and Kristin Bidwell, director, managing consultant; ACT Associates/DGI Communications.

Reasons to Attend Total Tech Summit

Dan Ferrisi, editor-in-chief of Commercial Integrator, will moderate each of the CI Summit panel discussions. He also helped ideate and plan the topics. According to Ferrisi, “We all know that commercial AV professionals are a discerning bunch, and they have high standards when it comes to industry events. We seek to make Total Tech Summit and, in particular, CI Summit as valuable as possible for the integration professionals who attend. This year’s lineup of educational panels and presentations marks the strongest iteration of CI Summit that we’ve ever achieved. We couldn’t be more honored to welcome our industry’s top thought leaders to Las Vegas. And we’re stoked that they’ll be presenting on these topics exclusively at Total Tech Summit.”

As a hosted-buyer event, the Total Tech Summit experience comes at no cost to qualifying integrators. If you believe that your commercial AV integration businesses is among the best and most innovative, please consider applying to attend.
