Platinum Tools MapMaster Mini Tester

The MapMaster mini RJ45 tester from Platinum Tools packs a lot of useful wiring and cabling information into a small device. “It’s a real simple tester, but it is a pocket tester, it has an LED screen. It tells you if [your device] is wired right and if not, what’s wrong,” says product manager John Phillips. A built-in tone generator with four tone combinations can be used with a tone probe to detect where a cable is routed and the location of the end of the cable. A set of five swappable mapping remotes enables locating cables terminated in wall jacks or patch panels. The MapMaster mini also identifies the patch panel port where network cable is terminated and can find and fix the position of exposed or hidden cables.
