Justin Clark, head of sales and tech support for Americas, Australia and New Zealand, from DoorBird sits down for an exclusive interview to discuss emerging opportunities in the mass notification category. DoorBird is looking very closely at this market and preparing solutions that could potentially revolutionize the category.

For Clark, the imperative for mass notification comes down to nothing less than saving lives. He asks rhetorically, “How can we contribute to overall safety, response time, rapid communication and making sure individuals get that accurate information ASAP?” He adds, “We can get behind something that saves lives.”

DoorBird Won’t Be Just a “Me Too” in Mass Notification

Clark emphasizes that DoorBird is not looking to be just a “me too” in the mass notification category; rather, the company wants to make a genuine impact as an innovator. Moreover, he makes the point that current product lines have native functionality that aligns well with mass notification. As he explains, “We have intercoms with two call buttons. So, one could be designated like normal — for instance, connecting to the front office — and one could be designated for panic.” DoorBird products being so feature-rich, he underscores, has allowed the company to explore opportunities in the mass notification space and recognize the viability of its solutions.

Later in the conversation, Clark offers a glimpse at some of what his colleagues and he are exploring. He explains, “I can actually have a fingerprint reader that’s connected to my index or connected to my middle finger. And when my middle finger is used, it sends a panic.”
