Pavion has acquired Norwell, Mass.-based AV integration firm Signet, according to a joint announcement, a move that “significantly enhances Pavion’s footprint in New England, further solidifying its leadership in healthcare critical communications.”

Founded in 1974 by Charlie Caron, Signet “has grown steadily over the decades, especially under the leadership of CEO Brad Caron, who joined the business in 1987,” according to the joint announcement. Caron was featured on the inaugural edition of Commercial Integrator in 2011.

“Brad’s vision for accelerated growth led to the creation of an engineering group capable of managing complex systems integration projects across critical communications, network infrastructure, security and AV systems,” the announcement says.

Why Pavion Acquired Signet

Signet serves more than 80% of acute care hospitals in New England. As the company celebrates its 50th anniversary, it “remains poised for continued growth under the leadership of Andrew Pelletier, aligning perfectly with Pavion’s strategic objectives,” according to the joint announcement.

“We are very pleased to welcome Signet employees and customers to the Pavion team,” says Pavion CEO Joe Oliveri in the joint announcement. “Signet is a great company with great people, and their focus in critical communications, security and AV significantly enhances our capabilities to deliver integration and support services for customers in the Northeast.”

Brad Caron expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, emphasizing the benefits for both employees and customers.

“As we approached our 50-year anniversary milestone, I wanted to ensure Signet would maintain the energy and tenacity for continued innovation and growth that my team deserves,” he says in the joint announcement. “Joining forces with Pavion ensures the future for the employees and customers of Signet for the next 50 years. I am very excited for the future of Signet as part of the Pavion family.”

Jim Muncey, president of Pavion’s security business unit, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the continuity and enhanced support that Signet customers can expect.

“Signet customers will continue to be served by the employees they’ve relied on for years, now with the enhanced support, tools, and capabilities from Pavion,” he says in the joint announcement. “Signet employees share our passion to be the best in the industry, and I really look forward to working with the Signet team.”

This acquisition marks the 21st for Pavion since partnering with Wind Point Partners in June 2020. It “represents a significant step in Pavion’s strategy to expand its service capabilities and geographic reach, particularly in the critical communications sector,” according to the joint announcement.

“By integrating Signet’s expertise and customer base, Pavion is not only enhancing its operational strength but also reinforcing its commitment to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional,” the joint announcement says.
