In this exclusive interview, Thomas Tang chats with Commercial Integrator’s Dan Ferrisi about Apantac and its big plans for InfoComm 2024. Tang is, of course, president, founder and CEO of Apantac. The company specializes in creating a range of AV solutions, including multiviewers, extenders and receivers, matrices and switches, and converters. During the eight-minute conversation, Ferrisi and Tang talk about a particularly exciting Dante audio-centric launch that Apantac is preparing for. According to Tang, “Apantac has done a lot of video products. So, AV-over-IP, we always really concentrated on the video part. But now, we’re launching some audio products. So, audio-over-IP has become very, very exciting.” In the video below, Tang provides details about Apantac’s new 16-channel decoder product that will take HDMI all the way up to 8K. Tang continues, “It will decode up to 16 channels of audio, and it supports multiple codecs.” That, of course, includes Dolby Atmos.
