What challenge did Mercedes-Benz Canada face with the MAR20X rollout?
Mercedes-Benz Canada faced the challenge of applying a highly customized global dealership design across sites with different layouts and installation conditions. The MAR20X concept originated at Mercedes-Benz headquarters in Germany and initially relied on prefabricated fixtures from a European vendor, but the Canadian rollout revealed logistical and architectural hurdles tied to local dealership variations.
The company needed an integration approach that could maintain the global design intent while adapting to each location without compromising appearance, quality or consistency. After a competitive RFP process, iGotcha Media was selected to lead the Canadian deployment.
“Our firm was proud to be chosen as the key integration partner to deliver excellence to all the dealerships across Canada,” Néstor Ballesteros, director of operations at iGotcha Media, says.
What solution did iGotcha Media implement?
iGotcha Media implemented a digital signage ecosystem built around large-format display applications and Chief mounting solutions from Legrand | AV. The deployment includes videowalls, ultra-wide displays, consultation stations, product discovery tables and digital service menus designed to support vehicle discovery, service interactions and in-store consultation.
To support those installations, iGotcha Media selected Chief products as the mounting foundation for the visual systems. Ballesteros says the goal was to integrate digital platforms into the dealership environment without disrupting the luxury design language established by the brand.
“The ultimate goal was to bring the future of automotive retail to life by weaving luxury, seamless spatial design, and innovative digital platforms into every step of the customer journey,” Ballesteros says. “From the start of the project, it was obvious to everyone involved that this was a job for Chief.”
Why were Chief mounting solutions chosen for the project?
Chief mounting solutions were chosen because they aligned with the architectural and operational demands of the MAR20X program. For videowall installations, iGotcha Media used the Chief LVS1U ConnexSys Video Wall Landscape Mounting System with Rails, which allowed installers to align display rows from a single strut channel and make micro-adjustments to individual screens.
The system also supported maintenance needs across a large national rollout. Its RapidDraw cord release feature allows individual displays to move forward for service without affecting surrounding screens, which helped support uptime and consistency across multiple dealership locations.
“Chief was chosen because they make products that fit precisely with what the architect firm overseeing the program had envisioned,” Ballesteros says. “That precision made it possible to deliver a consistent experience nationwide.”
What results has the rollout produced so far?
The rollout has produced a more consistent digital experience across completed Mercedes-Benz Canada dealerships while reducing installation complexity. According to the companies, standardizing on Chief mounting solutions has helped iGotcha Media manage different architectural environments and stay aligned with the automaker’s global design specifications as the rollout continues.
The installed technology was designed to blend into each dealership rather than compete with the surrounding environment. That approach supports the broader MAR20X objective of making digital systems part of the luxury retail experience instead of a separate visual layer.
How does this project reflect the broader MAR20X strategy?
This project reflects the broader MAR20X strategy by treating digital technology as a core part of the luxury dealership experience. The Canadian rollout required more than standard hardware and installation practices because it had to connect architecture, branding and technology across a diverse network of locations.
Through the integration of LG displays and Chief mounting products, iGotcha Media created a framework that can continue across the planned 64-dealership network. The result is a repeatable deployment model that supports both local execution and global brand consistency.
“This project has been an overwhelming success from all angles,” Ballesteros says. “Thanks to Legrand | AV, and more specifically Chief, Mercedes-Benz hasn’t just updated its retail concept, it has definitively redefined the luxury customer experience.”
Who is leading the integration work?
iGotcha Media is leading the integration work for the Canadian MAR20X deployment. The Montreal-based systems integrator was selected to execute the technology component of the program across Mercedes-Benz Canada’s dealership network.
