Commercial Integrator is now accepting nominations for CI’s 40 Under 40, Class of 2026, a recognition program spotlighting young professionals making a measurable impact across the commercial AV industry.
As nominations continue to roll in, CI has put together a list to address common questions and provide clarity on the submission process and criteria for the 40 Under 40, Class of 2026.
What nominations are eligible for CI’s 40 Under 40?
CI‘s 40 Under 40 program is open to professionals age 39 or younger who are contributing to the commercial AV market through leadership, technical skill, innovation, service or influence.
Eligible nominees may come from a wide range of industry roles and organizations, including:
- Integrators
- Manufacturers
- Distributors
- Consulting firms
- Programming companies
- Technology management teams
- Industry associations and other organizations across the commercial AV ecosystem
Additionally, past CI 40 Under 40 honorees are not eligible for re-selection. The goal is to recognize a new class of emerging leaders each year.
Can someone nominate themselves?
Self-nominations are discouraged. Instead, CI encourages submissions from people who can speak directly to a nominee’s work and impact, such as peers, colleagues, supervisors, mentors, partners and even clients.
A strong nomination should explain not only what the individual does, but also why that work stands out.
What qualities make a strong nomination for CI‘s 40 Under 40?
Nominees who demonstrate the following qualities are likely to make the Class 0f 2026 list:
- Leadership
- Problem-solving ability
- Technical excellence
- Business impact
- Creativity
- Collaboration
- Meaningful influence on the industry
Additionally, nominees do not need to hold executive titles. Rising professionals across all departments may be considered, including project leaders, engineers, programmers, sales professionals, marketers and operations staff.
When is the nomination deadline for CI‘s 40 Under 40, Class of 2026?
Nominations for CI’s 40 Under 40, Class of 2026 must be submitted by July 3, 2026.
