During InfoComm 2026 last month, Lightware gave Commercial Integrator an exclusive booth tour, highlighting its latest offerings. Clint Hoffman, president and CEO of Lightware, walked CI group director Dan Ferrisi through its story for the show, including how Lightware supports USB-C for every budget.
Lightware Supports USB-C For Every Budget
“USB-C is something that’s been near and dear to Lightware for a very long time,” Hoffman says. “We feel like we’re kind of the pioneers of USB-C in the AV marketplace.” The big difference now, he continues, is that the company enables USB-C at virtually any budget level.
During the tour, he highlighted basic infrastructure like a USB-C to HDMI cable, along with the company’s new USB-C booster. “With the booster, we can add power injection into your cable so that you’re now getting power, as well, which you wouldn’t get with just the cable alone,” Hoffman notes.
As the tour continues, Hoffman shares details about a range of other USB-C solutions, including USB-C and HDMI switchers and a USB-C and HDMI switcher with charging USB hub/host and control.
As Hoffman explains it, “If you want multiple inputs and outputs, then we have the full-blown.” He continues, “This is where our product lines start — at the top. Now, we work it back through the pyramid of the marketplace.”
Different Flavors of Taurus at InfoComm 2026
Later in the tour, Hoffman highlighted the Lightware Taurus products, which enable UC-over-IP. Flavors within the broader line include the standalone Taurus, the transmitter/receiver versions and, finally, the Taurus TPN, which is networkable.
“So, what we have here,” Hoffman explains, “is a Taurus unit that would be tied together in a network, and you can have almost any source and any destination at your disposal to do whatever you need to it.”
