What Is the Makito ONE?
The Makito ONE is Haivision’s low-latency, dual-channel multi-codec encoder/decoder built for 4K, HD and high dynamic range broadcast contribution. Engineered for remote production workflows that demand exceptional live video quality and low latency, it supports HEVC, H.264 and JPEG XS workflows and provides native SRT protocol support for secure, reliable streaming over wired connections. Integrators know it as a low-latency contribution encoder over Ethernet-connected networks.
What Is the CellLink 5G?
The CellLink 5G is Haivision’s new external modem and antenna array that adds bonded cellular connectivity to the company’s contribution ecosystem. It features three 5G modems and dual antennas for MIMO 2×2 performance. Housed in a weather-resistant enclosure with magnetic pad and thread mounts, CellLink 5G installs easily on vehicles, poles or buildings and connects to Makito ONE over standard Ethernet.

The Makito ONE now leverages cellular connectivity for live video contribution, all from a single hardware blade. Commonly used as a low-latency contribution encoder over Ethernet, Makito ONE is the first device of its kind to also contribute over cellular. That combination gives broadcasters more flexibility and added resiliency from diverse network options, helping them deliver the best video quality for live productions in remote, mobile and unpredictable network environments.
How Does Bonded Cellular Contribution Work?
Bonded cellular contribution lets Makito ONE combine multiple network paths using SST protocol to maximize live video quality. With CellLink 5G, the platform contributes high-quality video over bonded networks that include Ethernet and multiple cellular modems. This lets broadcasters build robust workflows with greater throughput and network load balancing across wired and wireless paths.
The setup also supports intelligent failover. Makito ONE can use public internet as the priority network over Ethernet, then lean on cellular networks as backup when internet congestion hits, staying on that backup until the priority network returns to normal. That approach helps ensure no disruption in video quality.
