What Is the James by Sonance Natural Collection?

The James by Sonance Natural Collection is a new line of on-wall speakers handcrafted in Minden, Nevada and designed to complement the material language of the rooms they occupy. Sonance, the provider of architectural audio, announced the collection from CEDIA Expo booth# 3700 in Denver. It’s a James by Sonance product, part of Sonance’s premium line built for spaces where every design detail is specified with intention.

The positioning marks a shift from how Sonance frames much of its catalog. Where the company’s in-ceiling and in-wall speakers are built to disappear into the architecture, the Natural Collection is designed for the room: visible by design and built with the material specificity and expanded finish range that design-forward rooms require.

What Finishes Are Available?

The Natural Collection offers five finishes selected for the way architects and interior designers actually build rooms. Modern Brown and Modern Teak feature genuine real wood veneer, giving each speaker an authentic surface that responds to light the way only real wood can. Modern White, Black and Sand Gold are finished in painted wood for a clean, consistent look that integrates into a range of environments.

Every speaker is hand-built with a premium wood finish, delivering the warmth and texture of natural wood along with the dimensional stability that long-term performance requires.

How Does the Collection Match TV Displays?

The Natural Collection uses display-matched sizing that aligns precisely with 55-, 65-, 75- and 85-inch 2026 Samsung Frame TV displays. The speakers come in two orientations. Horizontal Thin-Line (HTL) models match display width and create a seamless horizontal band of audio below the screen. Vertical Thin-Line (VTL) models match display height and flank the screen with a clean vertical presence.

For installs where display matching isn’t required, both models are also available in minimum dimension: 19.75 inches for the NC3 and 23.25 inches for the NC5QT.

What Are the Performance Options?

Sonance offers the Natural Collection in two performance levels plus a matching subwoofer. The NC3 features a 3.5-inch shallow-depth thin-line waveguide driver and an aluminum tweeter, built for refined, low-profile applications. The NC5QT steps up to a 5.25-inch shallow-depth driver paired with the James Quadratech tweeter for expanded performance in larger spaces. Both formats measure 2 inches deep to sit flush beside hanging artwork or sleek displays.

The NC10-SUB subwoofer completes the system. The 10-inch subwoofer is available in all five finishes and adds fuller sound and deeper bass to any NC3 or NC5QT install. It mounts on the wall, sits on a pedestal or lays flat under furniture to fit the space.

HTL soundbar models come in single-, 2-channel and 3-channel configurations, while VTL models are single-channel. Both orientations and both performance levels are available across the full range of dimension-matched sizes.

What Grille Options Do Integrators Get?

Integrators can choose from nine fabric colors across the full Natural Collection to complement any room palette. For installs that need an exact match, the Designer Grille Frame provides a fabric-ready grille that accepts custom fabric selected for the room.

Why Does Sonance Say This Matters?

Sonance says the Natural Collection reflects a long-running effort to design on-wall audio around the room rather than around the wall. “The Natural Collection represents something we have been building toward for years. On-wall audio has always been visible, but it has rarely been designed with the room in mind,” says Jason Sloan, chief revenue officer, residential sales, Sonance.

“We built the Natural Collection specifically to change that: premium wood finishes, materials chosen for the way rooms are actually designed, and sizing that aligns precisely with the displays our clients are already specifying. This is the Sonance answer to what design-forward audio looks like when it stops hiding and starts belonging.”

When Can Integrators Buy the Natural Collection?

James by Sonance Natural Collection speakers and subwoofers open for preorder today to authorized Sonance dealers in the Americas. Sonance expects the collection to launch to global customers in Q1 2027.
