Earthworks is a New England company that is well known in the professional audio world for its small-condenser microphones that are used for everything from recording to live sound reinforcement.
The Skinny: Adding to its line of products, Earthworks has announced its IML Installation Series with LumiComm Touch Rings. Debuting at the 2014 Infocomm show in Las Vegas, this line is engineered to provide consistent dialog intelligibility without a reduction of high frequencies.
The Specs: Aesthetically, the microphone incorporates an LED lighting function at its base that electronics professionals can change to suit client preference. Internally, the IML microphone is a back-electret condenser that offers a “near-perfect” cardioid polar pattern and a broad frequency response to enable the product to maintain a consistent level of intelligibility without incurring a loss of high frequencies.
All of the models within the line come standard with RF shielding, 4.5-inch bodies, black finishes, dual color (red/green) LED light rings, and a choice of 3-, 6-, 10-, 12-inch goosenecks.
Solutions: Earthworks says the IML Series of products can be utilized in boardrooms, teleconferencing situations, and distance learning environments.
