ZeeVee, NETGEAR Partner to Deliver Uncompressed 4K Content Up to 30 Miles Away

Published: 2015-06-09

ZeeVee, a leading provider of innovative video distribution technology, has partnered with NETGEAR to demonstrate the ability to deliver uncompressed Ultra‐HD video signals up to thirty miles away leveraging ZeeVee’s ZyPer4K over a standard NETGEAR ProSAFE 10G Ethernet switch at the InfoComm tradeshow (Orlando FL, 13-19 June, 2015).

By virtually eliminating the distance limitations of current HDBaseT platforms, ZyPer4K, running over the NETGEAR ProSAFE 24 port 10GB M7300 Series Ethernet Switch will dramatically reduce the cost and complexity of distributing 4k content within commercial environments such as stadiums, college and corporate campus’ and shopping malls.

The ZyPer4K solution builds on ZeeVee’s leadership in delivering multi sourced content and control to multiple screens over long distances using industry standard infrastructure. Because ZyPer4K uses existing Ethernet infrastructure, standards, and IP protocols, AV integrators can distribute and manage uncompressed 4K video distribution networks using a standard 10G Ethernet switch without the traditional distance limitations, custom programming, or proprietary cables often required by traditional proprietary AV switcher solutions, reducing the overall cost of the project by up to 60%.

The ZeeVee ZyPer4K solution also enables integrators to control and manage screens from a central location using IP, RS232, and Infrared controls over the network. This is ideal for stadiums, shopping malls, and airports, where a single infrared remote can seamlessly change a channel using the Ethernet network from miles away, simplifying the management and maintenance of an installation. Furthermore, each receiver delivers a 1GB Ethernet connection, ideal for integrating Wi-Fi receivers, facial recognition technology, or other commercial applications at the point of the display.

“ZyPer4K enables NETGEAR to expand into the growing AV channel without sacrificing our commitment to adhere to existing Ethernet standards”, says Laurent Masia, senior product line manager for NETGEAR Switching Products, “The ability to easily configure, expand and manage the NETGEAR switch offers AV integrators a choice from traditional chassis based proprietary AV switchers that require custom programming and cables.”

The NETGEAR ProSAFE M7300 Series 24 port switch enables AV integrators unparalleled flexibility compared to a traditional chassis based proprietary AV switcher. The 24 ports can be configured in any combination of input and output modes, such as 2×22, which would be difficult and expensive using traditional AV switcher approaches. The ProSAFE M7300 Series is backed by the industry-leading NETGEAR ProSAFE Lifetime Hardware Warranty, Lifetime Next Business Day Shipping for part replacement, and 24×7 Lifetime Technical Support.

“ZeeVee is excited to partner with NETGEAR to offer a truly simple and affordable 4K video distribution network,” says Bob Michaels, CEO. “With NETGEAR’s vision of “Internet of Everything”, it enables our integrators to create and manage an affordable uncompressed 4k video distribution network without the traditional limitations found in existing proprietary AV switchers.”

To further simply the integration process, ZeeVee has created the ZyPer4K Manager software platform to eliminate the need for custom programming, enabling unprecedented flexibility and speed of installation compared to traditional proprietary platforms.  Using the software, integrators can quickly create and manage video walls.

From a central location, a user can switch sources virtually instantaneously on any screen, embed and de-embed audio signals, as well as manage the control network from anywhere on the network.

Available today, the Zyper4K transmitter and receivers have an MSRP of $1650, and the NETGEAR M7300 Series sells for $8,900 MSRP in the U.S.
