It goes without saying that this survey of 181 doesn’t reflect any of the many firms that disappeared during 2016, but those still in the game seem to be winning. More than half experienced significant growth in 2016 and only 8% had noteworthy setbacks.
NSCA’s Chuck Wilson sees the lack of downturn as a potential anomaly since the impact of large jobs still in progress and not closed out yet has a major impact on bottom line revenue. “Typically, I would think at least 20% or a third would say they’re in a project-based downturn.” These results, he says, are “somewhat rare.”
