MXL Microphones Introduces New Conferencing Mics, Mounts at ISE 2020

Published: 2020-02-03

MXL Microphones is adding to its portfolio of web conferencing microphones and systems with a new microphone, multi-microphone system for use with a Zoom Room Speaker Switch and a ceiling mount.

The company announced the products in a press release earlier this week, previewing products that will be released at Integrated Systems Europe in Amsterdam on Feb. 11 to 14.

The new releases include the AC-44 USB Web Conferencing Mic, the AC-44 LCR multi-microphone system for use with a Zoom Room Speaker Switch and a new ceiling mount in the AC-360 conferencing line.

AC-44 USB Web Conferencing Mic

The AC-44 mic has a compact footprint measuring 2.5 by 3 inches and 1-inch tall, making it a good option for small huddle or conference rooms. The company says it can be easily affixed to medical carts for telemedicine, placed in robotics for receiving voice commands and incorporated into OEM applications.

The product uses the company’s signature 3-capsule boundary design, creating a small microphone with a wide pickup arc. It’s powered by a simple USB-C connection, making it a “true plug-and-play microphone solution.”

According to MXL, the AC-44 was built with a metal frame and grill, making it durable enough to withstand use in industrial environments. It comes in white, black and cobalt blue, but custom colors and capsule configurations can be requested.

AC-44 LCR

The company says its latest web conferencing collaborative solution, the AC-44 LCR, is an advanced audio tracking microphone system that can integrate with software and cameras. The three-mic system will interface with Zoom Speaker Switch, the web conferencing firm’s new feature.

The system uses three AC-44 USB microphones at left, right and center that can track where each speaker is located. Along with the Jabra PanaCast Camera, it will focus in on each speaker’s location based on audio signals, MXL says.

AC-360 microphone

MXL says the product — which it markets to huddle rooms and medium-sized conference rooms — captures a 360-degree audio pickup within a 25-foot radius via the company’s three-capsule boundary design in each of the microphone’s four quadrants. It can be mounted on tablets, desktops and ceiling tiles with a new dedicated ceiling mount.
