Tampa, Fla.-based AVI-SPL is acquiring video services provider VideoLink, and that means North America’s largest AV integration firm has offically entered the video content creation business.

In VideoLink’s Newton, Mass.-based studio, Commercial Integrator‘s Tom LeBlanc sat down with John Zettel, CEO of AVI-SPL, and Richard Silton, president and CEO of VideoLink, to discuss the recent acquisition and what it means for both companies.

VideoLink provides the commercial and corporate sectors with services such as its ReadyCam and Enhanced IP transmission technology in addition to offering customers its own studios to shoot webcasts, videos and more.

With this new deal, AVI-SPL, who has benefited from its strong global presence, brings additional value to its customers by offering new broadcast and production capabilities, helping to tie together the environment and content of workplace transformation.
