SurgeX Protects Digital Signage

Published: November 19, 2013

SurgeX‘s line of power protection products can be found protecting everything from the AV gear in football stadiums to high-performance home theaters, and even on those office copiers everyone leans on during the Monday morning quarterback sessions that occur each week in football season.

The Skinny: Adding to the list of markets that it serves and protects, the North Carolina company has announced its new line of Defender Series MultiPak multi-stage surge protectors.

The Specs: The line includes the four outlet SX-DS-154 and the six outlet SX-DS-156. The company says it developed the products specifically for digital signage arrays. Both products are engineered to protect against surges, spikes, over/under voltages, EMI/RF interference, wiring faults and other power-related problems.

SurgeX adds it developed the line of products to ensure digital signage systems stay operational without interruption due to problems related to power. The surge protectors incorporate the company’s proprietary Multi-Stage surge protection technologies as well as its Catastrophic Over/Under Voltage Shutdown (COUVS) technologies. Surgex also notes the inclusion of its ICE (Inrush Current Elimination) technology removes the need for time-delay methods such as startup sequencing to protect from the possibility of having a circuit blow because of the instantaneous need for current when systems are activated.

Solutions: SurgeX designed the Defender Series MultiPak products for digital signage installations.
