Published: 2014-04-25

Lost in the hype of gaming apps, live streaming and high-resolution audio, it is easy to forget that technology can be used to help educate children, providing learning tools that were never available to prior generations.

The Skinny: Utilizing the latest web-based, audio and video technologies to aid in the learning process of young people is the Bluffdale, Utah manufacturer Listen Technologies, which recently announced its new ListenPoint 2.0.

The Specs: ListenPoint 2.0 is the latest version of the company’s ListenPoint system. Listen Technologies says the new product is engineered to provide students and educators with a versatile learning solution that leverages state-of-the-art technologies.

“We are incredibly pleased to release ListenPoint 2.0 because it meets the mission of educating students, which we consider to be among the most important pursuits,” says Russell Gentner, CEO of Listen Technologies. “ListenPoint 2.0 offers students the enhanced educational experience they deserve, helping shape innovative, creative and extraordinary minds.”

The company explains that ListenPoint 2.0 is a scalable system that can be used in a variety of learning environments to provide students and teachers with music, sound effects, Internet, video and VoIP/Skype capabilities for the creation of virtual field trips and other educational activities.

Listen Technologies adds that the system also facilitates the learning experience of students with hearing loss so they can hear more of an educational presentation, and that the system is easy to maintain over a long period of time to ensure its value to educators.

Solutions: The ListenPoint 2.0 system from Listen Technologies targets the education market.
