Opticomm-Emcore to Demo Latest HDBaseT Extenders at InfoComm 2014

This year at InfoComm, Opticomm-EMCORE will showcase its CATx/HDBaseT Extenders, which include the C-Linx and card-based Optiva OTC series of products.

After a long winter, spring is finally here and faster than you can say “Memorial Day Weekend,” it will be time for the annual InfoComm show in Las Vegas.

The Skinny: The Alhambra, Calif.-based manufacturer Opticomm, a division of EMCORE, has preemptively announced some of its InfoComm plans, and according to the company, a big part of its show plans involves its latest HDBaseT products.

The Specs: During the show, Opticomm-EMCORE (InfoComm booth #C7716) will showcase its stand alone C-Linx line of HDBaseT solutions, as well as its card-based, Optiva OTC series of HDBaseT insert cards.

Opticomm-EMCORE explains the products can be used to transmit media players, Blu-ray and DVD players, computers and video camera content over a single Cat-5, Cat-5e or Cat-6 cable.  The C-Linx can be wall or table mounted, and they can transmit HDMI (including resolutions up to 3840×2160 at 60Hz), DVI, VGA and component video signals, along with stereo analog audio, digital audio, IR, and RS-232 control signals.

The Optiva OTC line of HDBaseT extenders are designed to allow electronics professionals to add HDMI, DVI and 3G-SDI extension via category cables through their clients’ existing Optiva chassis fiber cards. Opticomm-Emore adds that the cards are controllable through its OptivaView SNMP and Controller Cards, and the products are compatible with its C-Linx series products.

Solutions: Opticomm-EMCORE says the HDBaseT extenders can be used for digital signage, post-production video, jumbotrons, medical imaging, higher education, conference rooms, and other installations that require long-distance signal transmission.
