A Look Inside Mersive’s Booth at InfoComm 2017

Published: 2017-06-23

A new iteration of Mersive’s Solstice collaboration tool was debuted at InfoComm 2017. Founder and CTO Christopher Jaynes gave CI a tour of their booth during the show.

Solstice 3.0 multi-room enables meeting participants to share content collaboratively across multiple locations and geographies on the same enterprise network. When two or more Solstice Pods are synced in a Multi-Room session, shared content will appear on all Solstice displays in the session regardless of which room/location the content is shared from.

The device integrates with existing VTC and voice audio systems and does not require additional or special hardware.

Jaynes says the company‘s customers already appreciate the ability to cast content from any device onto another screen.

“We’re going to take that tech and allow it to occur across locations,” Jaynes says. “As long as you’re on the same corporate network now, your displays have become collaborative infrastructure, rather than just collaborative hotspots.”

More about the Solstice multi-room from Mersive’s press release:

Collaborating with Solstice boosts meeting productivity by reducing startup time, increasing engagement, and yielding better meeting results. Solstice Multi-Room acts as a force multiplier for these productivity gains by enabling users to connect and collaborate across multiple locations.

According to Mersive, Solstice has quickly become the standard for collaborative learning among the U.S.’s top institutions for higher education. The technology was deployed in thousands of classrooms and study spaces across the globe, most of which fall within U.S. universities, including the University of Pennsylvania, Duke University, and the University of Michigan, among others.

After the adoption and growth of Mersive’s U.S.-based higher education customers in 2015 and 2016, the company will look to increase penetration in global education markets this year. To do so, the company has grown its international channel partnerships to include AV distributors across Europe, Asia, Australia, South America and the Middle East.

Solstice multi-room is scheduled for release in late summer 2017.
