While new hires are a necessary asset for any growing business, sometimes it is best to search internally. Global signal distribution giant ZeeVee aimed for the best of both worlds this month, while Electrosonic posted up an AV veteran in their westernmost branch.

While the latter company is still searching for a new CEO to replace retiring Jim Bowie, Electrosonic’s Sales department decided it was time for some leadership in the West Coast Office. There, Michele Ferreira, a Bay Area AV vet, will take over as director of sales – West.

Ferreira most recently served as General Manager of the Technology Group at One Workplace in Santa Clara, but she’s proved her fundraising chops in the charitable world as well: her participation as a team captain for Avon Breast Cancer rose over $150,000.

Meanwhile, ZeeVee recently reassembled two of their top leadership roles ahead of what the company says will be a major push to expand AV-over-IP markets. Their new Vice President of North American Sales Joseph Chordas brings over 20 years’ experience at VBrick Systems, Discover Video and others.

Chris Scurto, a member of ZeeVee’s sales management team since 2011, will take a more senior role as the Vice President of Business Development and Marketing.

CEO Bob Michaels says these hires will play a critical role in the company’s direction going forward.

“With the realization of AV-over-IP upon us and the immense growth opportunities that exist, we have made significant moves to strengthen our management team and expand efforts in a number of strategic initiatives.

“The addition of Chordas and the promotion of Scurto perfectly positions ZeeVee to lead the industry in developing innovative products that meet the needs of our customers and end users.”
