Global technology provider Lenovo has introduced its new Chromebox Micro media player during the Digital Signage Experience (DSE). The Lenovo Chromebox Micro is a new breed of Chromebox. This is an ultra-thin and affordable media player offering high performance, proven data security and easier remote control and device management with ChromeOS, says the company.
Digital Signage Market Size & Growth Trends
The global digital signage market size was estimated at nearly $25 billion USD in 2022 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 8% from 2023 to 2030, according to Grand View Research. Growth in the industry is being driven by innovation in consumer experiences in retail and hospitality, as well as smarter infrastructure in healthcare, education and the enterprise.
As designers, marketers and infrastructure builders look for smarter ways to engage and inform people, they are turning to solutions that are cost effective, secure and easier to deploy at scale. Customers are also demanding advanced products that require digitized information management and guidance that can be accessed remotely. The Lenovo Chromebox Micro is purpose-built to meet these needs, says the company.
Lenovo Chromebox Micro’s Small Form Factor
The new solution is an ultra-thin, lightweight media player that fits into nearly any kiosk or signage solution. The first micro form factor Chromebox by Lenovo, the device is built for 24/7 digital-display deployments in the challenging conditions of high-traffic facilities. The fanless, ventless, dust-proof ChromeOS compute solution also supports dual displays at 4K resolutions. And, it is built compact enough to fit into tight environments. In fact, it is smaller than most smart phones.
The Lenovo Chromebox Micro is a great for fit for almost any signage and display solution. It includes USB-C, USB-A and HDMI ports, as well as screw holes for easy mounting.
Lenovo + Instorescreen Integration
Lenovo is collaborating with Instorescreen to offer 15.6 inch and 21.5 inch inFLEX displays specially designed for the Lenovo Chromebox Micro. The high-resolution inFLEX displays feature a rear cavity to accommodate the Lenovo Chromebox Micro, ensuring access to all ports. For cable management, the Lenovo Chromebox Micro pairs with the inFLEX displays through a single cable from a USB-C port to provide video, power and data.
Lenovo Chromebox Micro Remote Management Features
Designed to be deployed at scale, the Lenovo Chromebox Micro is easy to manage remotely. The ChromeOS Kiosk and Digital Signage Upgrade enables customers to set up and manage a fleet of kiosk devices. Customers can also leverage ChromeOS zero-touch enrollment to accelerate the deployment of pre-provisioned devices.
The small, durable form factor powered by the simplicity and security of ChromeOS gives the Lenovo Chromebox Micro big advantages in terms of lower total cost of ownership.
