Here’s Why the QSC Q-SYS Core 510i Won a BEST Award

Published: 2017-06-20

Our yearly conglomeration of the most outstanding products and services impacting the commercial integration industry recently shed light on 40 top products, and QSC’s Q-SYS Core 510i made the cut for multiple reasons.

The Q-SYS Core 510i Integrated Core Processor is the next evolution of the Q-SYS Platform and leverages the latest Intel platform using a QSC-developed Linux real-time operating system. The Core 510i processor can be configured as a full Q-SYS audio, video and control (AVC) processing appliance or as an I/O peripheral that can accommodate any combination of Q-SYS I/O cards, including Dante, AVB and CobraNet. The Core 510i processor is ideal for applications that require a diverse mixture of analog, digital and edge network audio connectivity.

Q-SYS is a software-based platform built around an open IT-friendly ecosystem. It leverages the power of Intel processing, the robustness and mission critical reliability of a real-time Linux operating system, and the interoperability of IEEE networking standards.

A neutral panel of experts chose the Q-SYS Core 510i from others in its category for the following reasons:

• Unlike any other Q-SYS processor, the Core 510i offers two modes – the Core mode handles all AVC processing including 64 channels of AEC and soft codec conferencing via the Q-SYS AV-to-USB Bridging solution. By offering two modes in one processor, integrators have two products in a single SKU and the ability to repurpose the product in case of future expansion.

• The I/O Frame mode offers support for up to 128×128 audio channels as an I/O peripheral. Integrators can mix and match any combination of Q-SYS I/O cards including Dante, CobraNet, AVB or Q-SYS. This provides integrators with simultaneous support for all major networked audio formats.

• The Core 510i offers native AES67 capability without the need for additional hardware or license costs. Integrators can stream audio between Q-SYS and third-party products that support native networked audio technology. Developed on an open-friendly IT ecosystem, Q-SYS is extensible and provides a complete end-to-end AVC solution.
