SNA Displays Refreshes LED Display at Boston’s W Hotel

Published: 2021-01-26

Thanks to SNA Displays, Orange Barrel Media was able to upgrade its digital display with a new LED video screen at the W Hotel in Boston’s Theatre District.

According to SNA Displays, the company designed and built a custom subframe matching the existing knife plate mounts while simultaneously allowing for x-, y-, and z-axis adjustments between cabinets at the high-profile location.

The new billboard at the W Hotel is built from SNA Displays’ EMPIRE line of exterior displays that are designed for outdoor applications like commercial use, corporate-branded facades, entertainment venues, sports, live events, LED spectaculars, advertising, billboards and more.

The display installed at the Boston hotel has an 8.0 pixel pitch and its 24 feet tall by 13 feet wide with a resolution of 900 x 800.

“SNA Displays’ LED products can be custom-designed to fit on any building structure, new or old,” said Mikell Senger, project manager for SNA Displays, in a statement.

“Given that our display products are highly adaptable to any environment and use case, we frequently retrofit outdated displays as we did in this case, providing newer, more cutting-edge technology.”

The new installation is just a short walk away from Millennium Place, a luxury residential building and the site of a previous SNA Display project that included a large digital sign just above the entrance to the city’s Chinatown train stop. SNA Displays also collaborated with outdoor media company Orange Barrel Media for that project.

“We are pleased to collaborate with SNA Displays to upgrade the screen at the W Hotel, and believe this new high-resolution display will be the perfect canvas to present arts, community and commercial content in one of the most visible locations in Boston,” said Pete Scantland, CEO of Orange Barrel Media, in a statement.

Other companies involved in the installation included Davis Sign Company and Aldon Electric.
