Zoom says it has reached more than 1 million Zoom Phone seats after just under two years of the product being generally available.
According to the company, the service that also includes Zoom Meetings, Chat, Rooms and Webinars with features like centralized management, contact center integration and call routing is now offered in dozens of countries and territories around the world.
Zoom, like many other videoconferencing and collaboration services, has exploded in popularity and usage since last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Increasingly, phone services offered by Zoom and Microsoft Teams are taking over legacy business phone systems in the enterprise as users look for one unified communications solutions rather than separate communication systems.
Services like Zoom Phone have the features of a business phone system with a modern unified communications experience across multiple desktop and mobile devices.

In a statement, Erka Popova, vice president of connected work research at Frost & Sullivan, said Zoom Phone has been an “astounding success.”
“Thanks to its innovative pricing model and widespread availability in 44 countries and territories, it has quickly become an attractive option for many SMB and enterprise customers around the world,” Popova said.
Zoom Phone is available for customers at the Zoom Pro tier and above as an add-on, and it’s also included as part of Zoom United, which features Zoom Meetings and Chat in one package.
