The 2016 Digital Signage Expo (DSE) was like a candy store of beautiful LED, OLED and 4K screens, content management systems and every digital signage accessory you can think of. The tradeshow does more than provide a platform for new product announcements, however.

Each year, DSE hosts the Apex Awards at a special awards program during the show, honoring the best digital signage projects and installations performed in the last 12 months. This year, the Gold, Silver and Bronze Apex Awards were presented to winners in nine categories from a field of 155 entrants sprawled across 11 countries.

The 12th annual Apex Awards were individually assessed on the basis of originality and innovation by 13 industry experts and journalists, all of whom have long reported on the digital signage market, have published on the many facets of the industry and are recognized as versant in current industry trends.

The awards were presented in nine categories: Arts, Entertainment & Recreation, Business & Government Services, Education & Healthcare, Event Venues & Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Immersive Environments, Public Spaces, Retail, and Transportation.
