Acoustics are often the biggest influence on an audio system’s performance, no matter if it’s a home theater setup in middle America or on stage in Madison Square Garden.

Auralex‘s newly updated GRAMMA (Gig and Recording, Amp and Monitor Modulation Attenuator) line of acoustic isolation platforms can be used in residential and commercial environments to decouple speakers, subwoofers, monitors, guitar and bass cabinets from harmful vibrations and resonances that negatively affect performance.

The Indianapolis, Ind.-based company points out the V2 series utilize Ozite cover over a structural layer that “floats” a 1-inch pad of Auralex’s Platfoam material. This combination of materials allows the true sound of a speaker and amplifier to show through without resonating artifacts.

Auralex adds the V2 upgrades include a lower profile for increased stability, improved low- and mid-frequency definition and “easy-to-grab” handles. The line falls within the company’s ISO (Instant Sound Optimizer) family of solutions that are designed to address the problems of individual sound sources.

The V2 line includes a choice of three models:

  • BabyGRAMMA V2: 15-inches wide x 15-inches deep x 1.75-inches tall; weight capacity of 200 pounds
  • GRAMMA V2: 23-inches wide x 15-inches deep x 1.75-inches tall; weight capacity of 300 pounds
  • Great GRAMMA: 30-inches wide x 19-inches deep x 1.65-inches tall; weight capacity of 300 pounds
