Even before the news of InfoComm’s new Drone Pavilion, sponsored by Stampede and the Unmanned Vehicle University, coming to Orlando June 17-19, drones were beginning to take off in the security integration industry.
“One of the most immediate and promising applications of unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, is in the area of surveillance,” says Kevin Kelly, president and COO of Stampede. He points to marathons, the Super Bowl, even K-12 school districts and university campuses as end users that could benefit hugely from drone surveillance.
Here at CI, we also imagine that these bad boys could be pretty fun to play with, which InfoComm attendees will have the opportunity to do at the Drone Pavilion, complete with a netted cage where the drones will be free to fly. And if you enjoy it, you’ll have the chance to win one of your own.
That’s right, Commercial Integrator is sending one lucky InfoComm attendee home with one AP10 Toruk Quadcopter Drone with an integrated AEE MiniCam, valued at $799. All you have to do to enter is stop by CI‘s booth #2687 and have your badge scanned. We will announce the winner on Friday at noon via Twitter (@commintegrator) so follow us on Twitter to stay updated on the contest!
The AP10 Toruk Quadcopter Drone from WH Camera produces HD video capture and recording capability as well as full 16 megapixel aerial still photo imaging. HD Video can be recorded in 1080i resolution at up to 60 fps, with a sweeping 120° viewing area.
This drone can be controlled through a standard multi-tasking remote control or through real-time Wi-Fi remote video on both iOS and Android devices. The AP10 Toruk is loaded with high-tech features like auto hovering, GPS flight mode and auto return-to-home mode in the event of loss of sight or control.
Limit one entry per person. Commercial Integrator will be in touch with the winner after the show and arrange for shipping.
While you’re at the booth, take a minute to become a CI subscriber or renew your current subscription. We’ll see you there.
