CEDIA outlines the Fundamentals of Residential Electronic Systems

Published: 2014-08-15

CEDIA has released a new document entitled ‘Fundamentals of Residential Electronic Systems’, targeted at new and existing professionals working in the custom install market.
In this fast-paced industry, says CEDIA, it is easy to get preoccupied with other aspects of the job and not find time to focus on the fundamentals. This easy-to-read document ensures that project and sales managers, office staff, IT teams and security professionals will benefit from a better understanding of the industry.

The document includes an introduction to the industry, professionalism and documentation, business fundamentals, basic mathematics and electricity, and safety, codes and standards. It also focuses on the different aspects of home technology, including distributed audio, home theatre design and installation, lighting and lighting control, security, alarm, surveillance and access control, energy monitoring and management, and the home network.

The book directly supports the CEDIA Gateway Certification and is the recommended study guide for the exam, as well as the foundation for higher certifications.

Printed copies are available from the CEDIA website. The cost is £50 for members and £85 for non-members. More information at www.cediaeducation.com/resources.
