CI Fantasy Football League: Week 5 Results and In-Depth Analysis

Published: 2018-10-09

There are plenty of teams that are thoroughly defeated. There are five teams that are defeated every single week (so far). But there is only one team, after five weeks of the 2018 CI Fantasy Football League, that is undefeated.

We hope that La Grange Park Perfect Pixels (NEC), which squeaked away with a 89-79 win to improve to 5-0 and remain lossless, enjoys it while it lasts.

OK, let’s get to it:

Standings of CI Fantasy Football League after Week 5:

CI Fantasy Football: Group 1 (Commissioner Ray Lyons)
Speco Technologies 4-1
Diversified 4-1
Waveguide 4-1
Z-Wave 3-2
Savi Controls 3-2
Canon Projectors 3-2
T1V 3-2
DigiDaybook 2-3
Vanco 2-3
My Team’s Better (CI) 2-3
Digital Projection 0-5
Brand Definition 0-5

Commissioner’s Week 5 Spin: Each week I award the “pillow fight” of the week to a team that wins with a pathetic point total…but we really didn’t have one this week. However, we did see the last unbeaten team in our division fall as WaveGuide took down Diversified 154 to 110.

FEATURED REPORT

I am happy to report I ended up in the winners circle for the 2nd straight week, with a win over Digital Projection (139 to 91). Other winners included Savi Controls (131), Speco Technologies (123) and Vanco (121).

Personally, I am looking forward to my match up with Speco Technologies in week 6….the trash talking has been non-existent so far this year and I know things will change with this weeks match up….so bring it team Speco!!

CI Fantasy Football: Group 2 (Commissioner Shawn Tobin)
La Grange Park Perfect Pixels (NEC) 5-0
Banner Clique (CI) 4-1
Tampa Steelers (AVI-SPL) 4-1
Team Mercil (SureCall) 3-2

HDBaseT-Pain (AVI Systems) 3-2
Run Like a Gurley (Premier Mounts) 2-3
TecNec Titans (TecNec) 2-3
WC BigTime (D-Tools) 2-3
Team Wicka (LG) 2-3
Team Shelby (Viewsonic) 0-5
Team Stang (Windy City Wire) 0-5

Commissioner’s Week 5 Spin: In the East division, La Grange Park Perfect Pixels improved to a league-best 5-0 after narrowly defeating Run Like A Gurley 89-79. In the West division, the Tampa Steelers steamrolled Team Mercil 135-86 and sit comfortably atop the division at 4-1.

CI Fantasy Football: Group 3 (Commissioner Craig MacCormack)
Rolls Royce (Jim Caldwell-Maximus Control) 4-1
Mac Daddies (Craig MacCormack-CI) 4-1
A Case of the Mondays (Matt Camps-NETECH Corporation) 4-1
Team Guhl (Jennifer Guhl-ANC) 3-2
Team Sansivero (Gina Sansivero-FSR) 3-2
The Lukes O Hazzard (Luke Jordan-EAVI) 2-3
Team Durham (Scott Durham-Yorktel) 2-3
Guns N Rosens (James Ballard-Orbis) 2-3
Team Means (Jimmy Means) 1-4
Team Donnelly (Ryan Donnelly-Third Coast Tech) 0-5

Commissioner’s Week 5 Spin: Things are getting a little tighter at the top of the standings as both Rolls Royce and Mac Daddies lost their chances at perfect seasons, in the process giving commish Craig MacCormack A Case of the Mondays. Team Donnelly can’t quite put things together but are hoping to draw inspiration from the Cleveland Browns.

CI Fantasy Football: Group 4 (Commissioner Tom LeBlanc)
Skol Vikings (AVI Systems) 4 – 1
Can You Diggs It (Human Circuit) 4 – 1
Team LeBlanc (Commercial Integrator 3 – 2
Team Luisi (Diversified) 3 – 2
Team Pearson (CTG) 3 – 2
Team Ackerman ( Rock-It Audio Video) 2 – 3
Philly Special (Ovation) 2 – 3
Team Wells (CCS Presentation) 2 – 3
Team Gasparo (Wyrestorm) 1 – 4
Ypsilanti Jesses (Midtown Video) 1 – 4

Chelsea Cafiero was late submitting her results for week 5.

Commissioner’s Week 5 Spin: You’ve got to hand it to Can You Diggs It?! After a devastating defeat last week at the hands of Team LeBlanc it bounced back with a 142.9 to 117.9 win over Ypsilanti Jesses.

It was Team Wells setting the standard for scoring this week with a 170.7 to 133.2 win over embattled Team Gasparo. Skol Vikings stayed hot with a 111.1 to 102.7 victory over Team Ackerman.

CI Fantasy Football: Group 5 (Commissioner Chelsea Cafiero)
2 Gurleys One Cup (Database Works) 4-1
Nebraska Taco Corp (Schaefers TV) 3-2
Bitter Donkey’s (InfoCor) 3-2
The Evil Empire (Rock Electric) 3-2
Smiling Mallards (InFocus Tech) 3-2
Team Schutzer (Opt Online) 3-2
Mr. McGibblets (CI) 2-3
Team HiBoost (HiBoost) 2-3
South Central Mud Dogs (Electrosonic) 1-4
Team Wynn (Thomas Communications) 1-4

Commissioner’s Week 5 Spin: 2 Gurleys One Cup takes the lead in Week 5 with another victory 137-95.7, this time over Team Wynn, who’s in the basement with South Central Mud Dogs.

The matchups were close this week with just one player making it or breaking it for more than a few teams in this league. For everyone else in the middle, there’s still a good chance to pull ahead before playoffs.
