Elite Prime Vision Shipping Ambient Light Rejecting Screens

Published: 2013-12-04

Over in the residential video market, the rise of multi-purpose entertainment rooms has fueled the growth of ambient light rejecting screens because of their ability to maintain contrasts levels in rooms with ambient lighting.

The Skinny: The Garden Grove, Calif. company Elite Prime Vision is bringing those residential technologies into a product line that commercial dealers can use for a variety of AV installations.

The Specs: Elite Prime Vision says its newly available Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) series of products includes the flagship DarkStar, as well as the PolarStar product. The screens are designed to provide quality images whether a room is dark or well lit, and the product line offers dealers a choice of an angular- or retro-reflective projection screen.

The DarkStar is a 1.4-gain retro-reflective product that incorporates optical filters that actively reflect projected images while rejecting indirect ambient light. The DarkStar is available in sizes ranging from 110 inches to 123 inches in a 16:9 aspect ratio, and sizes ranging from 140 inches to 156 inches in a 2.40:1 aspect ratio.

FEATURED REPORT

The PolarStar product is a polarized screen that can be used for 2D and 3D presentations, and Elite Prime Vision says the angular-reflective screen provides a gain of 1.8. The company adds the screen’s protective silver-gray coating is textured to retain 92 percent polarization and is compatible with formats that include 4K, 1080p, WXGA and XGA. Elite offers the PolarStar in a 16:9 aspect ratio and sizes ranging from 100 inches to 150 inches.

Solutions: The screens can be used in corporate boardrooms, training centers and in other public spaces.
