Enplug is making strides in the digital signage industry with its intuitive, cloud-based enterprise operating system for displays across several commercial markets.
Today the company announced the latest version of its software, DisplayOS 4.0. The free update introduces a host of new features, including a redesigned web dashboard, a new on-screen notification system and various new options user customization.
But perhaps the most exciting new feature is the Public App Market, which brings the “App Store” model of mobile to digital signage.
“Enplug’s App Market is a major step in democratizing digital signage,” says Navdeep Reddy, co-founder, Enplug. “Until now the ability to curate truly custom content for digital displays was the exclusive domain of a handful of companies. Enplug and DisplayOS 4.0 allows anybody to develop custom applications via our SDK and offer them for public consumption on the Enplug App Market.”

The announcement reinforces the company’s goal of being the universal platform for powering commercial displays. Enplug told CI in June that the software is so intuitive and easy to use, it doesn’t require training.
“Powering a network of displays with custom content is now no more complex than using your phone,” says Navdeep.
DisplayOS 4.0 also boasts an improved web dashboard with greater customization options and integration with the App Market, as well as an upgraded on-screen interface designed to boost viewer engagement through notifications and feedback.
“We’ve learned an incredible amount from our customers around the world,” says Zach Spitulski, co-founder and chief product officer at Enplug. “We’re constantly evaluating and questioning how we can make our product better for them. With this free update, we’re making our product even more intuitive, engaging, and frictionless.”
DisplayOS 4.0 is set to be released this fall, with the Enplug App Market already publicly available at enplug.com/apps.
