CI has gotten on its soapbox arguing the importance of safety certification and the policing of boastful claims when it comes to cables. ICE Cable Systems claims that its new PRIMAL bulk wire series, which it will launch at Integrated Systems Europe 2016, is the most affordable category and speaker cable on the market that also complies with important safety regulations.

The line offers Cat 5, Cat 6, and 16-gauge and 14-gauge speaker cables, each packaged in a pull-box that incorporates reinforced handles and water resistant laminate. To keep wire-pulls free of knots, kinks and tangles, the PRIMAL box (like BMP) utilizes REELEX coil and payout technology.

More from ICE Cable Systems’ press release:

“PRIMAL offers many of the convenience features and safety aspects of the ICE line,” says ICE president Brian Rizzo. “In compliance with UL, ETL and NEC standards, we’re using flame-tested jackets and full copper wire as opposed to non-certified compounds and copper-clad aluminum (CCA) so commonly found in entry-level offerings. The benefit here (with PRIMAL) is offering product at this price-level while including REELEX technology and safety compliance.”

The full line of PRIMAL is now available and shipping. The category cables are available in 1,000 feet runs and in multiple color options. The speaker cable is available in runs of 500 and 1,000 feet (depending on gauge) in white.
