Inside Crestron’s 4K Experience Demo at InfoComm 2014

Published: 2014-06-17

For many InfoComm 2014 attendees, Crestron is high on the list of the most important booths to see at the show.

The company announced its 4K UHD certification program earlier this year, and is partnering with InfoComm to educate those interested in the technology through the 4K in a Day course.

There’s no doubt that Crestron will also be showcasing 4K technology at its booth (C7008). But how?

The company has partnered with SiliconCore Technology to create a large scale 4K experience on the show floor, utilizing a huge 1.50mm pitch Magnolia 4K LED display as the centrepiece of the Crestron booth.

The Magnolia display from SiliconCore is 8.3 million pixels and measures 260″ diagonal (23ft x 13ft). Demonstrating cutting edge front and back-end technologies, the display will be integrated with Crestron’s expanded line-up of DigitalMediaTM 4K products.

The SiliconCore display is part of a live switching demonstration, enabling visitors to the Crestron booth to learn more about upgrading systems to 4K, delivering 4K video distribution and the tests products are put through to become Crestron 4K Certified.

Meeting Crestron’s requirements, SiliconCore’s Magnolia LED display offers a very low pixel pitch of 1.50mm. SiliconCore says the display delivers stunning brightness and a long lifetime, while being highly efficient.

This is the first time this 4K display has been shown at InfoComm.

“Our DigitalMediaTM product line is leading the way in 4K distribution, but of course a complete system also requires great sources and displays,” says Sean Goldstein, VP of Marketing at Crestron. “Under our Crestron 4K Certified program, we test those devices so integrators don’t have to.”

“In the process, we’re thrilled to find amazing products like the Mangolia 1.50mm pitch LED display from SiliconCore that share our dedication to innovation,” Goldstein continues. “From pixel pitch to total brightness and contrast to color saturation and the overall clarity of the display, the Magnolia is a beautiful display that we’re thrilled to have as the centerpiece of our 4K switching demonstration.”

Visitors can see the 4K display on the Crestron stand, C7008, and visit SiliconCore Technology at booth N1357.
