Opticomm-EMCORE, a leading provider of end-to-end multimedia distribution equipment for 4K UHD and beyond, announced today the release of the c-linx series MX-8HDMI-CATx and MX-4HDMI-CATx HDMI over CATx and HDBaseT Matrix Switchers for uncompressed HDMI video and audio extension up to 60 meters.

These cost-effective matrix switchers support full 1080p HD resolution with 7.1 surround sound audio from up to eight HDMI sources to eight remote displays, and are ideal for digital signage, video wall, conference room and home theater applications.

The new c-linx series matrix switchers provide local loopback for monitoring and distribution. The built-in IR extension allows remote access from displays to sources up to 60 meters away. Sources such as Blu-Ray and DVD players, as well as satellite and cable set top boxes can easily be controlled remotely through IR. Additional control options include RS-232, Ethernet and Web interface.

The MX-8HDMI-CATx and MX-4HDMI-CATx have the added benefit of PoC (Power over CATx) which powers the receiver over a single CATx cable. The PoC feature helps to make a clean installation by eliminating the need for additional “wal-wart” power supplies that clutter up power strips.

Opticomm-EMCORE’s c-linx 4×4 and 8×8 matrix switchers support 3D video, HDCP, and EDID. These units switch any HDMI input to any output using local front panel push buttons, or via remote control, and they are completely non-blocking, allowing any source to be connected to any display.

The c-linx series incorporates the latest advances in HDMI technology including the full HD 1080pand HDMI deep color with 48-bit color depth, plus Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

“The MX-4 and MX-8 matrix switchers further broadens the capabilities of the c-linx series to provide architects, integrators, installers and end-users with even more options than ever before for sending impressive digital video to remote displays,” says Henok Tafese, Sr. Director of Business Development for EMCORE.

Opticomm-EMCORE will also be featuring its complete line of end-to-end HD video, audio and data solutions including the revolutionary new Genesis XD Multimedia Matrix Switching Platform, and the openGear and Optiva Platforms for Multimedia and RF Satellite & Microwave Transport.
