Panasonic Delivers AV Equipment to Olympic Winter Games

Equipment provided includes nearly 7,000 security cameras, the largest quantity in Olympic Games history.

The 2014 Olympic Winter Games don’t begin until next month, but its AV equipment is already getting into action.

Panasonic Corporation has delivered its AV equipment to Sochi, Russia, where the Olympics will take place Feb. 7-23. Panasonic is the worldwide TOP (The Olympic Partner) AV sponsor for the event.

Equipment provided includes:

  • 6,903 security camera systems (the largest quantity in Olympic Games history)
  • 4,993 TV monitors
  • 207 projectors
  • 114 P2HD cameras
  • 100 P2HD recorders

Panasonic also delivered professional audio systems, HD visual communication equipment sets and more.

During the Winter Games, Panasonic will work with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Sochi Olympic Organizing Committee and Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) to provide support. Panasonic will record the opening ceremony in 4K with the cooperation of the IOC and OBS.
