Strategies Behind Almo Pro A/V’s Three New Manufacturers

Published: 2014-09-23

Almo Pro A/V has added three manufacturer partners, just in time to debut them at its E4 AV Tour stop on Oct. 3 in Boston.

The distributor has signed agreements with Connectivity solutions provider Comprehensive Cable, playback and recording product maker TASCAM and enterprise class digital signage manufacturer Tightrope.

Almo Pro A/V is known to be selective about its lines, and executive VP Sam Taylor recently talked about how that philosophy stems from his previous experience as CEO of now defunct distributor Electrograph:

FEATURED REPORT

[At Almo Pro A/V] we were selective in the number of lines that we carry. Most distributors carry lots of lines. We wanted to be more selective. At Electrograph we probably had 60 or 65 lines. When we started at Almo we said we wanted to have somewhere between 30 and 35 vendors and we want to stay there. We don’t want to have 120 lines.

Each of Almo Pro A/V’s newly signed vendors appear to fill niches. “The addition of these three companies brings tremendous value to our partner base with hardware and software products that help complete an installation and integrate with other products in our line, be it for digital signage or broadcasting,” Taylor says in a press release.

More from the PR:

TASCAM fills a hole in the market for playback and recording devices with a commercial feature set and professional quality. Almo now offers TASCAM’s rack mount BD/DVD/CD players and recorders with RS-232, as well as the TASCAM broadcast and portable recorders to address the needs of resellers that purchase broadcast cami9 eras.

Tightrope Media Systems provides its Carousel Digital Signage, an easy-to-use, easy-to-manage web-based digital signage system that scales from one display to thousands of channels, and is in use at thousands of corporations, educational institutions, municipalities and small businesses throughout the U.S. Carousel integrates with BrightSign media players, another Almo partner, to minimize the costs of deploying large-scale out-of-home networks. By combining the features of Carousel software with the performance of BrightSign’s XD230 Networked Interactive Player, Almo partners now have access to a highly sophisticated digital signage platform that can scale to the largest of deployments.

Almo Pro A/V integrator partners can experience Comprehensive Cable, TASCAM and Tightrope first hand at E4 Boston, October 3 at the Boston Marriott Newton, and E4 Washington, D.C., October 17 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center.
