This Golf Tournament Will Look a Bit Different than Most Thanks to GoVision

The 2016 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club will feature 15 massive LED video screens from GoVision, the most the company has ever installed at a golf tournament.

No matter the result of this week’s Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club just outside Minneapolis, golf fans are bound to see something they’ve never seen during a professional golf tournament.

That’s not a guarantee of way-below-par score or a prediction of the fate of the American or European team. The wrinkle will come in the form of 15 massive LED screens installed throughout the course, in the media center and in the International Pavilion bu GoVision.

The PGA of America hired Texas-based GoVision with the goal of blowing away the normal two to four screens that are typically employed for a regular PGA event.

“This is the most screens we’ve ever placed at a golf tournament,” said Chris Curtis, GoVision’s founder and CEO, noting the 15 even tops the number of screens GoVision installed for the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah.

GoVision is certainly no stranger to providing screens for major events, including the Battle at Bristol college football game at Bristol Motor Speedway earlier this month and Pope Francis’ visit to Philadelphia in 2015, among many others.

“This is a total team effort involving multiple divisions at GoVision which, frankly, wouldn’t have been possible the last time we worked the Ryder Cup,” said Curtis. “It’s a testament to our strategy of bringing complementary capabilities in-house, which has enabled us to be a one-stop-shop for the PGA and other large clients. I couldn’t be more proud of our expanded team for its unprecedented role at this major global event.”

Here is the breakdown of the GoVision screens being deployed for the 2016 Ryder Cup:
