Mersive Introduces Meeting Analytics

Published: 2018-02-01

Mersive launched Solstice wireless collaboration software in 2013 to address a missing component of meetings that was impacting productivity gains — digital content sharing. By giving users the ability to wirelessly share content from their mobile devices to a display, Solstice not only removed the physical barriers of the video cable, but made content sharing pivotal in improving decision making and driving productivity gains.

You might ask yourself, ‘what is the next step in the collaboration revolution that will take productivity to the next level?’ We believe the answer to that question is hiding in plain view — meeting analytics. Mersive’s newest addition to its Solstice product line, Solstice Kepler, provides alerts, real-time statuses, usage data, and other valuable meeting analytics for the Solstice deployment. The new service facilitates the day-to-day management of Solstice deployments and can inform the organization’s workplace technology and space planning decisions. In the near future, meeting analytics will inform capital investment expenditures in real estate, user software, room technologies, and communications (VTC).

Modern meeting spaces are going through a transformation. This transformation is being driven by companies that are trying to meet the needs and demands of the most collaborative workforce that has ever existed. The modern workforce is mobile and responsive, preferring ad-hoc meetings and ‘huddles’ to scheduled meetings in traditional spaces. These partialities have impacted the way offices are being designed, with huddle spaces and transitional meeting spaces becoming the norm, replacing the traditional conference room.

The transformation of office design has also posed challenges for AV Integrators. They must design and deploy solutions that will not only accommodate knowledge workers in spaces that are transitioning from ‘me’ to ‘we’, but to support solutions that will contribute to a higher level of productivity and increase ROI through a more collaborative workplace.

FEATURED REPORT

Depending on your perspective, this is either an exciting time to be a part of a new collaborative movement or just the latest development in a series of workplace trends spanning 20+ years. What is certain is that companies large and small are realizing the benefits of their infrastructure investments by enabling their employees to collaborate more often and more effectively.

What’s the point in investing tremendous amounts of time and money in new, collaborative spaces if you’ll never know how (or if) they’re being used? Meeting analytics will give companies the insight to more effectively utilize real estate, get the most out of knowledge workers, and more effectively leverage human capital/expenditure to drive results faster. The next addition to the Solstice product suite, Kepler Cloud Monitoring, will address this set of obstacles by giving companies the data to understand how people are meeting, thus giving insight into how to get even more ROI out of meetings and meeting spaces.

The collaboration revolution is happening, and the future is looking bright for AV integrators who deploy collaboration solutions that produce quantifiable results for their customers. Integrators who will be even more successful will be those who help decision makers see what opportunities lie ahead, not just those that are in the present.
