iRoom iO, the Apple-certified manufacturer of docking stations, showcased various products that included its flagship touchDock, iTop Tabletop, iTop OnWall, and others at InfoComm 2021.

touchDock and touchDock Mini

According to the company, the touchDock, made of resistant modern tempered glass, offers vertical or horizontal in-wall flush mounting with flexible installation capabilities and simple motorized iPad removal when needed for mobile use. Its built-in control processor delivers AV control independent of the iPad while the Smart Battery Management is an added feature for prolonging the iPad’s battery life.

Along with this, iRoom also displayed the touchDock Mini, smaller but identical to other touchDock models, which is compatible with the iPad mini-Gen 3, 4, 5 and 6.

The company emphasized that theft posed an issue with electronics as iPads on display. To counter this, iRoom added code-protected antitheft protection to the touchDock and touchDock Mini to ensure security and ease of access with hands-free unlocking and motorized removal.

According to iRoom, the touchDock systems are compatible with Crestron, Control4. Lutron, RTI, EnOcean, Savant and other professional control systems. The touchDock will also connects to all popular IoT services including Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, EnOcean, and Apple HomeKit.

The company announced that the iRoom docking stations had the following features:

  • Available for all current iPads larger than 10.2″
  • Smart Battery Management extends the iPad battery life
  • Code-protected, motorized removal of the iPad when it’s needed for mobile use
  • Horizontal or vertical in-wall flush mount Installation
  • Built-in control processor for AV control independent of the iPad
  • Hands-Free Unlocking of the iPad Screen via Motion Sensors
  • PoE+ powered or 110-240V
  • High-quality scratch-resistant tempered glass
  • New built-in Dynamic Sensor Package

iTop Tabletop and iTop OnWall

The company also stated that the iTop OnWall and iTop Tabletop, made of high-quality aluminum and glass materials to match the Apple™ design, were now available in 14 color combinations. The company listed the colors as two glass bezel selections (black or white) and seven aluminum base color options (including green, blue, silver, rose, apricot, gold and black) to match various devices or room décor.

iRoom highlghted that the iTop’s adjustable, sliding charging connector ensured a perfect fit for all current iPad models (from the iPad mini up to the iPad Pro 12.9”) while its tough locking structure made it safe, flexible, and purposeful for the entire family and other users including businesses.

Dynamic Room Sensor Package

iRoom iO also announced that the new Dynamic Room Sensor Package would be included with all iRoom docking stations including the iO touchDock models, all iTop OnWall and iTop Pro and iTop Plus tabletop models.

According to the company, the docking stations will feature the built-in sensor package created to monitor room temperature, humidity, light, and air quality (CO2) for energy and health-conscious consumers. The iRoom iPad dashboard provides the users sensor status information at-a-glance with quick access. Additionally, third-party control systems such as Crestron, AMX, Control4, Savant, RTI, Elan, and URC will trigger threshold-based alerts or control functions based on threshold. For example, when the brightness in the room falls below a defined threshold, the control system turns on the lights in the room, and much more.

iRoom added that both models, the iTop and the touchDock, are designed for simple stand-alone IP control or 3rd party control systems integration. In addition, the iTop has a built-in control processor with a 6-Button Control Keypad that works independent of the iPad and includes a lightning or USB-C port charging connection.

The company concluded that the sensor package will be included on all iRoom docking stations available during Q1 of 2022 while prior models will be eligible for upgrades.

For InfoComm attendees, the docking stations are available for viewing at booth #2211.
