Tripleplay Set to Debut 4K Compatibility at ISE

Published: 2015-01-30

There are many new noteworthy products set to launch at the annual ISE Show in Amsterdam this Feb. 10-12.

Narrowing the field of products to check is a daunting task, but one product launch worth checking can be found in the booth of the London-based company Tripleplay (Stand 11-D68).

The British manufacturer says that on the first day of the show it will debut 4K compatibility for its line of digital signage software.

“While 4K is not yet a mainstream requirement it is widely acknowledged that many businesses will demand the improved quality it can provide for large format display deployments,” notes Steve Rickless, CEO, Tripleplay. “We have taken our time to weigh up options ensuring that when we go to market we have a genuine 4K solution that can be deployed in a cost-effective, low-bandwidth impact manner.”

Tripleplay states that it has developed a solution that allows its clientele to add 4K capabilities through the Shuttle DS81 4K media player, and it points out that while 4K is still a maturing market, it is gaining momentum in both the consumer and pro video industries.

“Being hardware agnostic gave us a great advantage over many of our competitors and we have selected a great solution from Shuttle to integrate our digital signage software onto, and we expect our customers to be very pleased with the results,” adds Rickless.

Tripleplay explains that as the market moves forward, technologies such as H.265 compression will foster the ability to implement UltraHD/4K in a variety of environments.
