Hall Research Introduces Three Significant New Products at InfoComm 2016

Published: July 8, 2016

Hall Research is one of those companies that are referred to as the AV glue. Its products help installations come together. This year at InfoComm 2016, the company had three significant releases to showcase.

The first is a new scaler, the SC-1080R. This scaler allows you to connect HDMI, three ports, VGA/HD15, three of those ports, as well as composite and component. It is one of the few products left on the market that are still catering to those installations that need a single composite input into the system.

This scaler/switcher sends its signal to two HDMI signals as well as a VGA/HD15. It also allows you to send the audio out wither analog through a 3.5 mm TRS connection or SPDIF.

Hall Research was also demonstrating its wall plate HDBaseT transmitter, the UHBX SW3. This device is a two-gang wallplate input transmitter that will take two HMDI and a single VGA/HD15 with analog audio input. It is powered over the HDBaseT receiver that is connected to it at the far end.

You can get the transmitter in a surface mount option which makes it nice for under a conference table where you don’t want to install a J box.

For those that are getting into sending video over IP, Hall Research has introduced its HHD 264 encoders and decoders. It gives you the abiity to send video to up to 256 end points. They call it “visually lossless” meaning there is a bit of compression on the signal but none they think you should be able to tell. it’s a dynamic matrix as it is multicast.

This product could be used in education, for digital signage, in house of worship, or other installations that require sending HD signals over long distances to multiple devices without the need of a physical switcher or distribution amplifier.
