CI Fantasy Football League: Week 9 Results and In-Depth Analysis

Published: November 6, 2018

As CI Fantasy Football League wraps up week 9 and looks toward week 10, many players in the middle of the pack face a fork in the road. Should they continue to invest their valuable time in hopes of achieving fantasy football glory? Or should they focus their energy on sabotaging all who have wronged them during the course of the season?

It’s an age-old dilemma. Both paths are noble.

As you’ll see below, with very few teams comfortably over .500, there are many teams facing this fork in the road. The stage is set for a contentious rest of the season. Enjoy!

OK, let’s get to it …

Standings of CI Fantasy Football League after Week 9:

CI Fantasy Football: Group 1 (Commissioner Ray Lyons)
Diversified 7-2
T1V 7-2
Z-Wave 6-3
Savi Controls 6-3
Waveguide 6-3
Speco Technologies 5-4
Vanco 4-5
Canon Projectors 4-5
My Team’s Better (CI) 3-6
DigiDaybook 3-6
Digital Projection 2-7
You Need Brand Definition 1-8

Commissioner’s Week 9 Spin: C’mon….really?! Tough luck for the Commish this week, posting the 2nd highest point total (140 pts.) and still losing. Congrats to Canon Projectors for the 168 pt. week! In the pillow fight match of the week, Savi Controls (99 pts.) took down Speco Technologies (78 pts.). Other winners included T1V (139 pts.), Waveguide (130 pts.), Diversified (125 pts.) and Z-Wave (113 pts.). After 9 weeks, it has pretty much become a 5 horse race with 5 teams at 6-3 or 7-2. It’s not looking good for the rest of us!

CI Fantasy Football: Group 2 (Commissioner Shawn Tobin)
Winning as a Service (AVI-SPL) 8-1
Team Mercil (SureCall) 7-2
La Grange Park Perfect Pixels (NEC) 6-3
HDBaseT-Pain (AVI Systems) 6-3
Banner Clique (CI) 5-4
Magic Skol Bus (Klipsch) 5-4
TecNec Titans (TecNec) 4-5
WC BigTime (D-Tools) 4-5
Team Wicka (LG) 4-5
Run Like A Gurley 2-7
Team Shelby (Viewsonic) 3-6
Ugh Can’t Win (Windy City Wire) 0-9

Commissioner’s Week 9 Spin: Week 9 saw the first TIE of the season, with Team Shelby and Run Like A Gurley both putting up 82.8 points. In another close match, La Grange Park Perfect Pixels edged out Magic Skol Bus by one tenth of a point, 113.9 – 113.8. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Winning as a Service put a 77-point beat-down on Banner Clique, 143-66.

CI Fantasy Football: Group 3 (Commissioner Craig MacCormack)

Will Craig MacCormack, who is covering both AVIXA’s AV Executive Conference in Tampa and Total Tech Summit in Pittsburgh, have time to set is CI Fantasy Football lineup?

Rolls Royce (Jim Caldwell-Maximus Control) 7-2
Team Guhl (Jennifer Guhl-ANC) 7-2
A Case of the Mondays (Matt Camps-NETECH Corporation) 7-2
Mac Daddies (Craig MacCormack-CI) 6-3
Team Sansivero (Gina Sansivero-AtlasIED) 6-3
The Lukes O Hazzard (Luke Jordan-EAVI) 4-5
Team Means (Jimmy Means) 2-7
Team Durham (Scott Durham-Yorktel) 2-7
Guns N Rosens (James Ballard-Orbis) 2-7
Team Donnelly (Ryan Donnelly-Third Coast Tech) 2-7

Commissioner’s Week 9 Spin: Week 9 was marked by blowouts, with only Mac Daddies, a 104-92 loss to A Case of the Mondays, able to keep their matchup within 25 points. Team Guhl won the honor for most lopsided win this week, sending Guns N Rosens home to reconsider life after a 120-64 thrashing. With four weeks to go, we’ve got five teams within the top spot and four teams battling to stay out of the basement, then The Lukes O Hazzard smack in the middle.

CI Fantasy Football: Group 4 (Commissioner Tom LeBlanc)
Skol Vikings (AVI Systems) 7 – 2
Can You Diggs It (Human Circuit) 7 – 2
Team Luisi (Diversified) 5 – 4
Team Pearson (CTG) 4 – 5
Team LeBlanc (Commercial Integrator 4 – 5
Team Ackerman ( Rock-It Audio Video) 4 – 5
Team Gasparo (Wyrestorm) 4 – 5
Philly Special (Ovation) 4 – 5
Team Wells (CCS Presentation) 3 – 6
Ypsilanti Jesses (Midtown Video) 3 – 6

Commissioner’s Week 9 Spin: Boring. Skol Vikings and Can You Diggs It?! (which still has my headshot as its lucky logo) both won … again. Let’s talk about Team Gasparo clawing itself out of irrelevance to inch closer to .500 with a whopping 151.3 to 113 win over Team Wells. How about Team Luisi, suddenly with the second best record in the league after a 152.7 to 123.3 victory over Team Ackerman. These are the true heros of CI Fantasy Football!

CI Fantasy Football: Group 5 (Commissioner Chelsea Cafiero)
2 Gurleys One Cup (Database Works) 7-2
Team Schutzer (Opt Online) 7-2
Nebraska Taco Corp (Schaefers TV) 6-3
The Evil Empire (Rock Electric) 5-4
Smiling Mallards (InFocus Tech) 5-4
Bitter Donkey’s (InfoCor) 4-5
South Central Mud Dogs (Electrosonic) 4-5
Mr. McGibblets (CI) 3-6
Team HiBoost (HiBoost) 2-7
Team Wynn (Thomas Communications) 2-7

Commissioner’s Week 9 Spin: ALL RIGHT, South Central Mud Dogs take down 2 Gurleys One Cup at 90-86… finally! Of course, your commissioner would have beaten either of those scores at 104.3 points, but the Smiling Mallards were too tough this week with James White, Alvin Kamara and Matt Ryan on the lineup. For all the crap Team HiBoost talked before the season, it ain’t looking good down at the bottom for HiBoost and Wynn.
