CI Insight: Manufacturers Are Diversifying Their Product Offerings, But Why?

If there was one major InfoComm 2016 takeaway CI editors could all agree on, it was that it seems as though plenty of manufacturers are diversifying into product categories that stray away from what they typically offer.

While the diversification trend has certainly been apparent in the integration industry, manufacturing companies such as Media Vision, ClearOne and BlackMagic Design have also made moves toward diversifying themselves by offering products not typical to their brands.

For example. Media Vision, known as a purely conference solutions manufacturer, has now begun offering assitive listening and video streaming solutions.

CI editors Tom LeBlanc, Craig MacCormack and Rachel Quetti sat down to discuss why manufacturers such as Media Vision have began to make the sudden moves into different product categories, and what its means for the industry as a whole.
