As always, Commercial Integrator is focused on ways to provide insightful content to members of the commercial AV industry. Recently, our team created a short, eight-question survey focusing on some of the most topical issues in the commercial AV world. We ask that you take our survey to help your fellow integrators, consultants and technology solution providers better understand the state of the AV industry today.

Nowadays, labor-related issues are a hot topic in the integration community. Our survey touches on the most marketable and in-demand skills for AV technicians working in 2023. For example, we ask about whether integrators are most interested in attracting technicians with strength in cable pulling, networking, programming or another essential skill. Moreover, we ask about whether integrator respondents’ firms have more or less demand for subcontracted labor these days, as opposed to in prior years.

What’s more, we inquire about how survey respondents break down their business in terms of categories of project. Specifically, we ask about integrators’ relative percentage of projects in the following categories: commercial AV, residential AV, security, structured cabling and IT/networking. Commercial Integrator is curious about the extent to which today’s technology solutions providers are diversifying their business by delving into projects outside of their core wheelhouse. This survey will help provide the answer!

Survey Examines Commercial AV Opportunity Areas

Another big goal for Commercial Integrator’s survey is to examine key opportunity areas in the AV integration channel. We’re curious which hot trend on the technology side will have the biggest impact in 2024. In particular, we ask survey respondents about AV-over-IP and network-based systems, direct-view LED technology and artificial intelligence (AI). What’s more, we inquire about applications/use cases that are getting a lot of attention. We hope, with this survey, to understand whether the ripest opportunity for integration businesses centers on esports, Microsoft Teams Rooms, live-entertainment applications, the ascendant work-from-anywhere trend or something else.

Completing this survey will take three minutes or less, and your voice will help the integration community understand the key issues of the day. Please lend your voice and help Commercial Integrator shine a light on the developments that affect your integration business!
