Extron Taking Orders for Next-Gen Power-Management Solution

Anaheim, Calif.-based Extron’s IPL EXP PDU4H is a control system power expansion interface. Recently, the company announced that it is now taking orders for this next-gen power-management solution.

The interface is, of course, compact in size. It provides centralized power management for small to medium-sized AV systems. It delivers the ability to control individual AC outputs remotely. In addition, it allows for aggregate current sensing. The IPL EXP PDU4H is Ethernet enabled. Notably, the product features four AC outputs, four manual control ports and a relay for additional system support.

According to Extron, the product is designed to be used with an IPCP Pro xi Series control processor for secure, encrypted power control of attached devices. In addition, it can operate independently using a secure Extron API. Thus, the company’s technology can enable seamless integration for specialized applications. The IPL EXP PDU4H occupies a 1RU half-rack enclosure. With regard to mounting options, there is, of course, a broad variety of them are available.

Next-Generation Power Controller from Extron

“We are excited to offer this next-generation power controller to our customers,” Casey Hall, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at Extron, says. Hall notes the compact package, which, nevertheless, contains a great deal of advanced technology. “We’re certain it will be the ideal power-management interface within your pro AV system,” he adds.

With the use of an optional rack shelf, the IPL EXP PDU4H is rackmountable. The IEC-Edison Cable Kit is a new, optional accessory kit that includes four one-foot IEC male to Edison female adapters to assist in the installation of the power-expansion interface.
